Newport is situated in the middle of the Island and is the main hub for both the roads and for public transport.
Ferries: A lot of Island accommodation can offer reduced price ferry tickets with your booking, so it's always worth asking if this is available.
Via Southampton - Red Funnel runs to either East Cowes (car ferry, takes around 55 minutes) or Cowes via the Red Jet, which is the passenger ferry and takes around 25 minutes. There's a free bus from Southampton Central rail station to Town Quay, where you can catch either the car ferry from terminal 1, or the Red Jet from T2. We've previously negotiated a reduced rate with Red Funnel, and closer to the time there may be some voucher codes you could use, so possibly worth waiting before booking. There is a very frequent bus service from Cowes to Newport, and also regular buses from East Cowes.
Via Portsmouth - Wightlink run a car ferry from Portsmouth to Fishbourne (near Ryde) and the Wight Cat foot passenger ferryfrom Portsmouth to Ryde pierhead, from which it's a short walk along the pier to the bus terminus. At the mainland side there is a direct rail route to all of the Wightlink routes except the car ferry to Fishbourne. There is a regular bus service from Ryde to Newport.
Via Lymington - Wightlink run a car ferry service from Lymington to Yarmouth; foot passengers can get to Lymington by train, which stops at the ferry terminal. There are buses from Yarmouth to Newport. Via Southsea - The Hovercraft runs from Southsea to Ryde; this is the shortest duration crossing, taking only around 10 minutes, but is also the most susceptible to stopping in bad weather. If you're travelling on public transport using a railcard, this can generally be used to cover your ferry crossing as a foot-passenger and you should be able to book a through ticket including your ferry crossing. Car: The venue address is Quay Arts, 15 Sea St, Newport PO30 5BD, though if you're staying in Newport, you probably won't need your car during the weekend. Visitors can buy a weekend car park ticket allowing parking in many locations, but do check that this applies in the specific location where you're keeping your car. Bus: These are run by Southern Vectis; most routes go to or through Newport, and up to date details of bus numbers and times can be found at Southern Vectis - The Island's Buses
